A few readers have asked me if it was true: is there going to be another Prophesized Book?
Simply put, yes. I am still writing in the Prophesized world.
If you downloaded Redeeming Lainey within the first month of release, you got the first glimpse of the upcoming book. There was a bonus chapter at the very end of that novel from Ryanne's perspective. I've since uploaded a newer formatted version, so that bonus material is gone.
Because I've gotten so many questions, I've decided to finally release the title to the masses:
I already have the cover for this book as well, but I'm going to wait a few weeks before I release that.
Eternal Endings is not finished. I've had a few issues writing it recently. For a while, the words just weren't coming to me. The characters were being stubborn, and I had a serious case of writer's block. Last week between classes, I finally was able to add to it. I'm hoping to have it completed by the end of 2014, but that is very tentative at the moment. It could be sooner. It could be later.
For those who don't know anything about this project: Eternal Endings is not a continuation of the fourth book, but the events do take place about a week after the battle in Reaching Retribution (for the first few stories). Each chapter is written from a different character's perspective. That's what is taking a little longer--I have to get all of their voices down. I have a few of the character's stories written, but some of the characters are more complex and I really want to get their stories right.
Here are the teasers that have already been released:
These are unedited and subject to change before publication.
Ryanne:
“No, this is right,” I state adamantly. “We’re supposed to be right now.” With the where figured out, I just have to figure out the why. Colton’s hands move to my waist as he steps up behind me. His arms tighten around me as he pulls me off the stool.
I let
him move me, but I’m not going to let him distract me from what I came here to
do. “You know this is where we officially met,” he whispers in my ear.
“Really?”
Okay, I briefly let him distract me.
“Yeah,
you almost got run over by a car right outside that window,” he points to the
front of the store.
“That
feels like so long ago,” I say, “like lifetimes ago.”
“Then
you came in here and sat in that chair, all beautiful and confused,” he reminds
me and then smiles. “Claire knew right then and there about my feelings for
you.”
“Well,
I wasn’t too subtle with my gawking,” I laugh and lean into him arms, “when you
were checking out that book,” I freeze.
That
book.
James:
“You’ve
done well, James,” a chorus of voices rings out behind me. Jumping up off the
roof’s edge, I spin around and meet three short hooded figures, seemingly
floating a few inches of the ground with their fraying black cloaks swaying
with the breeze.
The
Fates.
No one
on Earth has seen the Fates and lived to tell the tale. “Now, it’s your turn to
find love for yourself.”
Larkin:
After
my feet hit the ground, I keep my eyes closed. Dust from the ground filters
through the air with my sudden appearance, but I pay no attention to it. I know
exactly where I am. I know exactly what this building used to be. Dravin’s no
longer here, but there’s an eerie feeling all around me—the remnants of the
dark things that went on here. Things I once took part in.
I’m not
proud of what I did. At the time, I didn’t think I had a choice. I was given an
ultimatum, and I did what had to be done. I regret that decision, but I don’t
regret what happened because of it. I became a part of something
bigger. I was on the wrong end for a while, but with the help of clueless
little mage, I found my path.
A path
that started here.
Opening
my eyes, I find myself standing exactly where I pictured. I don’t bother on turning any of the lights. I don’t think they’ll work anyway. My knuckles
ache when I see the bare concrete wall in front of me. I don’t know how many
times I’ve punched that freaking wall and broke my hand because of how angry
this place made me…how angry he made
me.
My eyes
scan the room. Almost everything is how I left it. Bare walls. An unmade bed.
Papers scattered on the floor from one of my anger episodes. The desk to my
right no longer looks wooden because of the fine layer of dust. In only a few
weeks, this compound went from busy and thriving to desolate and abandoned.
For a
while, this place was my home.
Now, I have no home.
Now, I have no home.
