I didn't get to read as much as I planned to while on spring break, but I used a gift card that I previously won from writing a poem about a book series that I read and used that to buy some books. These books have been in my to-be-read pile for a while now and I'm super excited top finally start reading them.
1. Incendiary (The Premonition Series, Volume 4) by Amy A. Bartol
Here a little blurb about this book from Amazon:
Cold, fine drops of rain fall softly on my cheeks as I emerge from the
darkness of the ship’s interior to the gray, overcast sky of the main
deck. Pulling my dark pea coat tighter to my body, the wind lifts red
tendrils of my hair. I walk slowly to the railing overlooking the water.
I catch my first sight of the Irish coastline; its craggy
landscape makes me shiver in dread. I find it difficult to imagine now
how the Gancanagh had made this their home for so long without anyone
realizing it. The cold, moss-covered edifices practically scream their
presence. As I study the shadows between the falling-down stone, I
imagine creeping shapes of undead Faeries grasping the rock, waiting for
our ship to draw nearer to their position.
Tipping my face up, I
let the rain wash over me. It bathes away the frigid sweat of fear that
has broken on my brow. “You don’t know how fiercely beautiful you are,
do you?” A quiet voice behind me asks, causing me to stiffen and fix my
eyes on the rocks along the shoreline.
2. The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski
This book has excellent reviews and has been on a lot of recommended lists. I've wanted to read it, but I didn't really have any money until now. Also, I just love the cover.
Here is the book description from Amazon:
Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think
out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than
following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same
repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the
right direction until everything fell apart.
Determined not to
dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with
her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected
night at the hottest club in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, she makes
the ultimate decision to leave the only life she's ever known, far
behind.
With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few
necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a
Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a
guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who
harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her
walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.
But with
Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought
she'd do. He shows her what it's really like to live out-of-the-box and
to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip
he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love
and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But
will Andrew's dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them
completely apart?

3. Deeper We Fall by Chelsea M. Cameron
I've read a few books my Chelsea M. Cameron and really enjoyed them. Also, I follow her on twitter and her tweets are awesome. Seriously, you should all follow her. Anyways, a few weeks ago, I did a cover reveal for the sequel to this book, so I decided that I should probably read the first one. This book has great reviews, so I'm looking forward to jumping into it.
Here is the book description on Amazon:
Two years after her best friend was involved in a car accident that
caused a traumatic brain injury, Lottie Anders is ready to start her
freshman year of college. Ready to move on. Ready to start forgetting
the night that ripped her life apart.
Her plans come to a screeching halt when not one, but both brothers responsible for the accident end up back in her life again.
Zack is cruel, selfish and constantly rubbing what happened to her friend in Lottie's face.
Zan
is different. He listens to her awkward ramblings. He loves "To Kill a
Mockingbird" as much as she does, and his dark eyes are irresistible.
His words are few and far between, but when he does speak, she can't
help but listen.
The trouble is, Zan was the driver
in the accident, and now Lottie's discovered he lied to her about what
happened that night. Now she must decide if trusting him again will lead
to real forgiveness, or deeper heartache.

4. Ashes and Ice by Rochelle Maya Callen
I've never read anything by this author before, but she was featured on a couple blogs that I follow and they all seemed to love this book, so I'm giving it a chance. Also, I seriously love this cover. It's so pretty.
Here is the description on Amazon:
She is desperate to remember.
He is aching to forget.
Together, they are not broken.
But together, one may not survive.
Jade wakes up with no memory of her past and blood on her hands.
Plagued
by wicked thoughts, she searches for answers. Instead, she finds a boy
who doesn't offer her answers, but hope. But sometimes, when nightmares
turn into reality and death follows you everywhere, hope is not enough.
