I try to write a couple thousand
words a day, so I have plenty of material to post. I've decided that for this
first post, I'm going to put the prologue of the newest contemporary book I'm
working on. This book doesn't have a title yet and I'm nowhere near done
writing it, but I seriously love where it's going. I hope you all enjoy it :)
I was warned. I
should have listened.
How are you
supposed to react when a mystery man calls you to tell you that your life is in
danger? What are you supposed to do in that moment? Unlike the movies, I don’t
have a handsome prince willing to rush into the scene and swear to protect me.
I don’t have someone taking an oath to guard my life with everything he has in
him. In fact, I walked away from the only prince I ever knew. I left him
standing in the middle of the street watching my back as I walked away from
him.
Standing on the
cliff’s edge, I look down at the water beneath me. Crashing against the jagged
rocks, the waves are enraged. They’re pummeling angrily against the cliff with
Herculean strength as if life depended on it.
My life could
depend on it.
Twenty years
old is too young to die. I’ve done nothing worthwhile with the time I’ve been
given. If I could go back...yes, there are many things I would change. Many
things.
I watch the man
walk out of the forest and slowly stalk towards me.
I was warned. I should have
listened.

interesting.
