I'm so sorry that I neglected to post a teaser on Tuesday and then yet again on Thursday like I said I would in my last blog post. I've been pretty busy lately and I completely spaced that I promised to post a teaser on Thursday.
I've been looking through some of my books and I've been having difficulty choosing a section to post as a teaser, especially from the Prophesized Series. There are plenty of sections that I could post, but I don't want to give anything away. I want people to experience everything when they are reading it for the first time.
So, I'm just going to post another teaser from one of my work in progresses. I'll post longer Prophesized teaser the closer we get to the release. This is from my untitled contemporary romance novel that has a sprinkle of suspense mixed in.
I know you don't know these characters or the plot line or really anything from this book, but I hope you like it! I posted one other teaser from this book here: the prologue.
*This section is unedited and subject to change.
She’s worried about me breaking his heart? I must have looked surprised, because she gives me a small smile, pats my back , and walks over to Owen and Landon. Levi walks up behind me. “Next stop: the parents.”
“I
think you’re getting a little ahead of yourself there,” I say. I've only known Owen for a couple of days. Owen and Landon keep glancing over their shoulders at us. “What do you
think they’re talking about?” I whisper to him.
“Turtles.
Definitely turtles.”
“Why
turtles?” I laugh quietly, so I don’t disrupt their conversation.
“Because
they’re cool and should be interjected into every conversation. Duh," Levi gives me a look that says that I should have already known that. "You know, leatherback. Green Sea…turtles. Tortoises.”
I
face him. “Really?”
“Dory!” he says loudly.
“Dory
was a fish.”
“A
talking fish. That’s cooler than turtles.”
“What
about Squirt?” I say with a smile. “He’s a talking turtle.”
“It
doesn’t get much better than that.” Levi wraps his arm around my shoulder as I
start laughing. Owen looks behind me and smiles at us as his brother walks
towards the front door. Owen hugs Becca and closes the door behind them, before
turning towards us.
“What
are you two laughing about?”
“Talking
turtles,” I answer.
At
Owen’s confused look, I laugh harder. “I found Finding Nemo to be very
educational,” Levi tells him.
“You
do know that fish and turtles cannot actually speak, right?” Owen walks away
from the door and heads towards us.
“What? Pixar lied to me? Inconceivable!” I lose it. It
shouldn’t be that funny, but I thought it was hilarious. I laugh so hard, I end
up snorting, which sends me into another fit of giggles. “Breathe Gemma, it’ll
be okay. I’ll eventually be able to live with the fact that my childhood has been a lie.”
