This post is not about my books or any other books for that matter. I decided to change it up a little bit. As I would hope you would all have guessed by now, I love to read and write. However, I still love science and am majoring in Wildlife Biology. I still want to work in a rehabilitation center. I still have all of these "tree-huggery" plans. No, that's not a real word, but I agree. It should be.
But some of may not know, I have a big appreciation for art. I've always been kind of artistic, but I didn't really look at artwork and admire it. It started when I took AP Art History my junior year in my high school. I don't know what it was about that class, but I loved it.
Michelangelo, Botticelli, Edgar Degas, Jacques Louis David, Jean Fragonard, JMW Turner, Renior, Vincent van Gogh, Georgia O' Keeffe etc. For the most part, I loved it all. I had some trouble understand surrealism though...
I loved learning about the history behind the artwork and the time and dedication it took those artists to create those pieces. I mean, look at the Sistine Chapel. Do you realize how much physical pain Michelangelo put himself through to complete that masterpiece? I've seen the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in person and it's something you don't forget.
I was looking through Yahoo News stories and came across this Youtube video and...I don't even know what to think. Some people may find this video boring, but I think it's beautiful. Brian Maffitt projected the movie "The Lorax" out of his window during the recent snowstorm and this was the result. Just watch it, you'll see.
I saw this video and thought that I had to share it with someone, so I decided to post it on my blog. The colors, the music, the falling snow...everything just comes together so beautifully. I hope you all liked it as much as I did. I can't wait to see what Brian Maffitt will do next!
Some of my favorite pieces of art:
That's all I have for today. Until next time!
