Faith When Falling: Teaser Tuesday

Tuesday, August 4, 2015
I know this post is a little later than expected, but hey, at least it is still Tuesday! We had a guy over earlier today hooking up our cable and internet, and then I've been doing laundry all day to prepare for my road trip later this week! I'm hoping I'll still have internet access while away so I can write and still post next week!

Anyway, here is the Faith When Falling teaser for this week:
This is unedited and subject to change before publication.

“Welcome back,” a man’s voice speaks from the corner of the room, causing me to jump up. Metal clangs through the room with my movement, and I’m thrown forward instead of backward like I wanted. Handcuffs are snapped onto my wrists and wrapped around a large supporting pole in the middle of the room keeping me from moving too far away. I’m trapped. My legs give way as my body collapses to the ground, landing with a hard thud against my left side. The floor, walls, and ceiling all blend together as everything starts to spin.
There always comes a moment in life when the thread separating the expected and unexpected snaps and everything starts to go haywire. Organized plans start to scatter throughout the foundation, weakening the structure of years, possibly decades, of work. Order and form break through their locked enclosures and flee through the nearest window, sending jagged shards of disarray flying in all directions and inviting in chaos like a welcomed friend. Surprise strolls through the front door, casually lingers in the corner, and waits for it’s moment of glory—for the precise moment to strike during the deafening war happening while the expected and unexpected fight for control again.
This was one of those moments.
Thoughts? I haven't gotten many comments on the previous teasers, so let me know what you think. Also, don't forget to follow the Faith When Falling Pinterest Page to see some of the inspiration for this book!
