As a thank you for all the support you guys have given me, I've decided that I'm going to write small scenes from the already two published novels from a different POV. If there's any scene that you really want to know from a different person, email me or comment below! I'd be more than happy to attempt to write it!
I already wrote a scene from BlackMoon Beginnings from Colton's POV and people really took to that. This time, I attempted to write the wedding reception scene in Scorching Secrets from Liam's POV.
Now, I don't think I truly captured Liam's voice correctly in this, but until I figure out what is missing, I'll let you guys read it. Liam is a complex character. His history is a complicated one. There's a reason why he keeps to himself and is so stoic all the time. I go much farther into his history in the fourth book (I explain the scar and the tattoo), but until you guys get to read that book, here's the scene:
Liam's POV from Scorching Secrets
Let me know your thoughts! (If it sucks please tell me and I'll rewrite it!)
I'm going to get back to editing Descending Darkness. I have another blog post that I'll post this weekend that gives a few more details about that book, so keep an eye out for that!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and supporting me! :)
I've always been curious about Liam's POV on what's going on because he seems so calm and collected. It's great to see him breakout of those states of being and see what really makes him react. I really enjoyed the pov you posted! I was glad to see how the guardian bond between Liam and Ryanne affect Liam because really in Scorching Secrets we really only got the explanation of how Ryanne would be effected.
ReplyDeleteAnyways.... I loved it and I can't wait to read about how Liam got his scar and more of his past. Thanks for sharing more about your characters!!
YOU ROCK!!
Liam's hard to write, especially at this point in the series. I know why he acts the way he does, but I can't give too much away too soon! I was worried that I wasn't going to "capture" his voice and he'd end up sounding exactly like Colton.
DeleteThanks! :) I can't wait for you to find out more about them!
My coder is trying to convince me to move to .
ReplyDeletenet from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.
But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using Movable-type on a number of websites for about a year and am concerned about switching to another platform.
I have heard excellent things about blogengine.net. Is there a way
I can import all my wordpress content into it?
Any help would be really appreciated!

I loved Liam's POV but I have to say, it doesn't like Liam. I think you need to make him more...detached? around others. Like when talking to Mr.Jameson, you could make him sound more formal. Or maybe when he talks of his emotions
ReplyDeleteyou can make them a bit vague and not a lot in depth. I'm not really experienced but that's how I'd write him. Hope that helps! xx <3 Looking forward to your upcoming books
That's where writing Liam is difficult. Because I know Liam's whole history...generations back and I give that away in the fourth book. That makes writing something from his perspective this early a little complicated.
DeleteThe thing with Liam is, he's not really detached. He makes everyone believe that he is. Without giving too much away, I'll say this: Liam's had a difficult life. He does look a certain way. He's big, has dark hair, pale skin, and a giant scar on his face. He's not a very approachable guy, so he's adapted his personality to match his outward appearance.
I try and show that he's not really that detached in small glimpses through the books, especially when he's with Ryanne. She was the first person in two years to not judge him based on his appearance. So around her, he's not as stoic and quiet as he is around the others. That's why he'll smile more around. He's laughs at stuff she does and says. He cares. You know? Liam in a way is very poetic...at least in my mind. There's so much more to him than the words on a page.
Now, I think I'm going into way tooooo much detail. Haha
I'm glad that you commented on this though! I thought about making him sound more detached, but that's not how Liam is in my mind. (Sorry for this giant response. I get a little wordy sometimes.)
No probs! I guess I understand that Liam isn't as stoic as he wants people to believe. And I agree that Liam is quite poetic.
ReplyDeleteYAY! You gave away extra info...Sorry, but I've been trying for ages, I guess that's what happens when your 12 and you have a lot of experience in twisting things! ;)
I hope you figure out Liam's tone of voice but I know either way, I'll love it! <3
I totally fine about going more in-depth about stuff that's already happened or reveal more about their characterization. Haha, I just won't tell you what happens in Descending Darkness :)
DeleteOh, well, I tried but I gotta say,you have a very stubborn (in a good way!) I can't wait for Descending Darkness <3 I'm looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI love Liam.I'm hoping that him and Ryanne end up together.Something about Colton just annoys me.For one he said he liked her for a year..but never actually tried to talk to her!! Must not of liked her to much. There other things i dont like about him but i'm not going to get into all of that.i cant wait for book 3!!! even though i have not finished book 2 yet.almost done though
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that we get an in depth peek at Liam and that we get to see that there is so much more to him than a calm veneer. I for one have always rooted for Liam to end up with Ryanne instead of Colton so it was awesome to see he wasn't completely unaffected by Ryanne. Love this series and I hope to see more of the Liam/Ryanne relationship in upcoming books! Ohh, and also hoping to see more of Bragden and Tom! Especially Bragden! I love him!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing more of Liam because I have always been rooting for Liam and Ryanne to end up together! I like Colton but the way the book is written, Liam just calls to me more as a compatible match for Ryanne! I love this series immensely and definitely hope to see more of Tom and especialy Bragden! I love him. Thanks for writing such a great series.
ReplyDeleteI really loved getting to hear things from Liams perspective. I've always wondered what's going on in his head and what he's feeling. He's always seems to have a poker face on and doesn't ever show much emotion except to Ryanne. Im also happy that he is affected by Ryanne just like everyone else, even though there's other factors involved with his emotions. I've been rooting for him and Ryanne since the first book. There's just something about him...maybe it's that he seems more mature than Colton, or just that he seems like a solid and protective rock for Ryanne. I can't wait to learn more about his past and especially his( I can't remember now if he's from a tribe or whatever his little group is called so sorry I'm drawing a blank and I'm to lazy to look it up) family. I've always wondered if that jut unique to where Liam is from and the type of magic they have, or if there are other magical communities like that? I can't wait for the next book and to learn more about the magical community and the people in it. Maybe we'll get some povs from Liam too?
