Since everyone seemed to like the facts about BlackMoon Beginnings, I've decided that I am going to give facts about all the books in this series. So, here are the five facts about Scorching Secrets.
1. The title of this book was originally the Secret of the Flame. This tied into a section that is in the fourth book later on (When you read that section, you'll understand). It wasn't until I started to think about book covers that I decided to go with an alliteration title to match the first book. I wanted the title to have something to do with a flame to allude that there's more to Liam that meets the eye. All of the secrets with Liam have not been revealed yet. ;)
2. There are two scenes from this book that I absolutely loved writing. The first one being Jane's wedding scene with Ryanne and Liam. I wanted to write a scene where Ryanne realized that there could be something worth fighting for; there might actually be a future for her. The second scene was the forest scene at the end of the book with Ryanne and Colton. I really like writing scenes where I can divulge a little bit of background information about certain characters.
I also really liked the cake scene.
3. The dream that Ryanne had where she saw Christian Bale at the mall and then threw up on his cute body guard was based on a dream that I actually had. I thought it was awesome, so I wrote it into the book. Haha, like Ryanne, I kind of have a slight obsession with comic book movies.
| Yep...that's Batman for ya. |
4. I wrote this book from alternating POVs because I didn't think all readers connected with Colton much in the first book. I thought that writing from his POV would allow for everyone to understand why he does certain things or acts certain ways. He's a stubborn character and like Ryanne, he tends to make things more complicated than they should be. Honestly, I really like writing from dual POVs because it allows for me to think like a different character--to actually get in their heads and fully understand them. Hence, the extra bonus POVs.
5. There are some things in this book that were left unanswered for a reason! Those are not plot holes. Please stop telling me my books are riddled with plot holes. Haha, they may be, but the things being brought up, are not plot holes. I intentionally mentioned a few once and only once, so that if you read it the next two books you will have an "Oh my gosh, everything is starting to make sense now. That Kaitlyn knows what she's doing." (Even if I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. *smile and nod*)
| Everything I do is totally intentional. |
I'll post facts about Descending Darkness about a week after it is published. That will give everyone some time to read it and process everything that's happened. Those facts will be better than this one, since there is more that happens in Descending Darkness than in Scorching Secrets. :)
I'm getting very close to finishing! I finished my last round edits last night and now I'm just updating my word document. I have a friend that is still editing, so I just have to wait until she's finished. I'm starting to work on formatting and should be able to get you a date in a few days! It'll be ready soon, I promise!
Again, thanks for being so patient with me!
