Hello blogging universe!
Okay, so I really don't have a whole lot to mention at this specific moment. Since it's been a couple of days, I thought that I would update everyone on what has been going on.
I have officially read through book one and edited it for the...millionthbagillionthtrillionth time. Yes, I realize that that is not a number, but it should be. I've read through this book so many times that I've completely lost count. I have read through the whole 176 word document pages (which when converted to book format will be around 360 pages) and all 87,911 words. Since I know the book probably word for word, it's time to let someone else read it.
I contacted my high school creative writing teacher and gave her the book to read while on break. She's the one who inspired me to write this book, so I thought she should be one of the first ones to read it. I really want to hear her opinion on it. I know that I've mentioned this before, but I'm freaking out.
I'll let everyone know what she thinks about it when I hear back from her.
*Fingers crossed that it's positive*
Also, I'm going to give the book to a few of my closest friends and family members to hear what they think. Then, I'll make some final edits.
Hopefully soon, I'm going to release the title of book one and the series name. At the same time, I reveal the cover I've created and the brief synopsis. Now, the cover is nothing fancy. Since I'm a poor college student, I don't have any money to pay anyone to create a cover for me. I had to use free stockphotos and compile images in an interesting way. I don't think it's too bad. It's simple, but I think it's interesting enough to capture readers attention...and the book is going to be free, so it doesn't have to be too special.
I've been having some wrist problems recently, so I haven't been able to edit and write as often as I want to, but I have a few more projects in mind. Nothing's going to stop me :)
INDEPENDENCE
Shelly Crane released her fourth and final book in the Significance Series early. I was expecting Independence to come out on the 18th, but it came out a couple days early. I was so happy and of course I downloaded it right away. It was amazing. The book began right where the third book left off.I wrote a previous blog post about Shelly Crane, so I won't go into to much detail about this book. I love the characters in this series. Maggie and Caleb are just perfect and as a reader you can't help falling in love with Bish and Kyle as well. This series has made me laugh and cry. When an author is able to evoke that much emotion out of its readers, you know there's something special about them.
Shelly Crane wrapped everything up so nicely that I'm completely content with the ending. She does not disappoint.
The only thing that I didn't like about this book was that it was the final one. I love this world and the characters so much. I'm sad that it is over. Granted, I'll probably reread this series countless times and then there's the movie deal...so I guess it's all good.
AVOW
The next book I finished was the third and final book in the Archers of Avalon series by Chelsea Fine.I loved this book. I completely recommend this book series. Chelsea Fine has woven an intricate tale about love overcoming all obstacles. Scarlet has had to die numerous times within the last 500 years while Gabriel, Nate, and Tristan search for the Fountain of Youth to break the curse.
From page one, I completely drawn in. I forgot all about my surroundings.Chelsea Fine wrapped up this series beautifully. I love how the reader is finally given the full story behind the curse. We get to see Scarlet in each of her lives and I fully enjoyed the historical aspect of this story.
Also, can I just mention how much I love Nate. I have a teensy book crush on this character. He's hilarious. It was 2:30 in the morning and I had to clamp my hand over my mouth to stop from laughing too loud.
Like Shelly Crane's Independence, I was sad to read the last page in this book. It's incredibly sad to realize that that it's over. There's no more anticipation over what will happen next. I just stared at my Kindle screen for a few moments thinking what do I do now?
This is another series that I'll reread countless time and would recommend it to everyone.
ON CHRISTMAS HILL
I originally was not going to read this story. I don't usually like short stories because I feel like they end WAY too soon. I like to sit down and read for hours. Short stories have to be really well written to keep my interest. However, I saw that one of the blogs I follow was having a giveaway, so I entered it.And I won! Woo-hoo. :]
The prize for wining was a free ecopy of On Christmas Hill. I read this short story and completely loved it. It was so adorable. I was a little upset that it was so short, but...it is a short story, so that's expected.
This story helps you remember the magic in the Christmas season. If you're looking for a quick read during this holiday season, I'd recommend this short story by Nichole Chase.
On a side note, the author is continuing this story during the upcoming holidays. I can't wait to read the next installments.
That's all I have for today. Until next time!
