Late Tuesday Teaser!

Tuesday, September 24, 2013
Sorry for the late teaser. Tuesdays are my longest class days and I had a study session that I went to, so I didn't have a lot of time to search for a teaser until right now. Haha, so here is the late teaser from the fourth book for Teaser Tuesday!

This is unedited and subject to change before publication:
"This second chance doesn’t happen to everyone. Few get the opportunity to turn back time and erase irreparable damage, but you’ve been given this chance for a reason.”
“That’s it? That’s all you can tell me?” That doesn’t give me any of the answers I need. “What am I going to have to face? What lies ahead? Can't you give me anything more?”
“I’m so sorry, but I can’t tell you more. Just know that mages aren’t the only magical beings in the world and a handful of them impact the course of history. They have a lot riding on this war."

**This will probably be one of the last teasers I do for a few weeks. I need to get back to editing--especially if I want to get this book out in two months. Teasers are hard. I feel like everything in this book is a big SPOILER ALERT moment. Please try not to hate me. haha I hope you like the teaser!

Either way, I hope it holds you over for a little while. I'll make sure to give the title and a longer teaser next time! :) I hope you all have an absolutely fan-freaking-tastic day and week!

Guess What Day It Is....?!?

Tuesday, September 17, 2013
Do you know what day it is? Do ya? Have you guessed yet? I'll give you a hint: It ends in Y.

No. It's not Friday. It's only Tuesday. The day after Monday.
image
I feel ya. I wish it was Friday too.
I'm sick and have lots of tests this week, so I hope this week goes by fast. Haha But, since it's only Tuesday, that means it's Teaser Tuesday again! YAY! :)

This is unedited and subject to change before publication.
"Will anyone miss you when you’re gone? These people are just followers. They don’t care about you, Dravin,” I say trying to keep his attention on me.
Liam steps up behind Dravin and raises his sword, but Dravin turns around and faces him. “I wouldn’t try that if I were you."
As Liam lowers his weapon, I move forward and kick him in the back of the knee, simultaneously unsheathing my weapon. Dravin falls to the ground, but rolls to the side, out of the way. Getting back up, he glares at Liam and me. “So this is really what you want to do? Fight to the death?” he sneers. “Are you really prepared for that?”
Let me know your thoughts on the teaser! I haven't had much time to edit or write this week, but hopefully this weekend, I'll be able to knock out a lot of chapters. *fingers crossed* I hope you all have fantastic day!

**For anyone on my Facebook that was wondering, I did finally decide on the title for this book. I kept juggling between a few options and have finally decided on one!** I'll release the title soon!

Teaser Tuesday!

Tuesday, September 10, 2013
It's Tuesday! Do you know what that means?

Well, do you? I'll give you a few seconds to think about it. (Hint: read the title!)

It's teaser time! *Confetti cannon & obnoxious music* <---Someone else has to clean up that mess. I supply the cannon, you supply the broom.

Okay, I'm done. I'm pretty tired and I get slightly slap-happy when I'm tried. It's ridiculously hot here, so sleep was out of the question last night.

Anyway...Giving teasers both excites me and stresses me out. I have to find a teaser that makes you go "Ooooooh, I want more," but isn't a "Oh no, she didn't," type of thing. I can't spoil too much before the book comes out, and let me tell you, there's a lot of stuff happening in this book that is very spoilery. It's hard work ya'll.

Here is this week's teaser from the fourth book. Let me know what you think after you read it:

This is unedited and subject to change before publication.

“You don’t understand. Literally a couple hours ago, she asked me not to stop fighting. She said if something does happen to me, you have to continue with this fight. You have to push forward; otherwise all of this would have been for nothing. Don’t let it be for nothing, Colton,” I quote her. “I have to finish this, Tom. For her.” My voice cracks at the end and hearing that, Emma stifles out a sob. I glance across the room at her and see silent tears streaming down her face. David is trying to comfort her, but yet again, this is one of those situations where nothing seems helpful in the moment.

There's that and now for your daily dose of cuteness:

You're welcome.
I've finished first round edits of this book and have sent it to a few people to help with the editing process. As they've been editing, I've been working on the contemporary novel I'm planning to publish in February. At the moment, everything is on schedule! :) I'm really excited and worried for you all to read this book...also, slightly terrified. I'm just a jumble of emotions right now.

I hope you all have a fantastic day and rest of the week!

Five-ish Facts about Descending Darkness.

Friday, September 6, 2013
It's time for the five facts about Descending Darkness!

*Spoilers for those who haven't read Descending Darkness yet!!!* READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

1. I knew from the beginning that Ryanne was going to end up with Colton. Even though the first scene I wrote in this entire series was the scene in BlackMoon Beginnings where Ryanne first meets Liam, I knew that she wouldn't end up with him, but that he would be a very important person in her life. Like I mentioned in the book, Ryanne and Liam have a strong connection to each other. Ryanne is the first person in a long time that Liam has opened up to. I added a few discreet details into my Liam POV about his past. Ryanne was the first person not to judge him based on his looks, and that was one of the first things that drew him to her.

In Scorching Secrets, I wrote a scene where Ryanne was looking up at Liam and thinking about how she could be happy with him, but then Colton walks up the stairs and interrupts her thoughts. If you look at that scene now, it can be interpreted as slight foreshadowing. I know that some people may not think so, but I actually love Liam and Natalie. I know that I didn't get to build their relationship up much, but I think that they work better than Ryanne and Liam would have.

*Sorry to all you Ryanne and Liam fans!*

2. Like the other two books in this series, I had a few other titles for this book. At first it was Darkest Dawn because of the Dark Knight quote I have in the book. Around the beginning of June, I started to think about the other titles in this series and I just didn't like how it sounded after the first two. I narrowed it down between Waking Warriors (referring to Colton and Liam) and Descending Darkness. The few people that had read the book before I published helped me choose Descending Darkness for the title.

3. I love Ryanne and Bragden's relationship in this book. If you look at it from the physical aspect, I think it's hilarious. Bragden is huge. He's the largest mage in their group and Ryanne is the smallest. Bragden likes playing little tricks on Ryanne and likes that, though he's so much bigger than her, she retaliates. He's also very protective of her. I loved writing the scene where Ryanne and Bragden are training and he tells her to use her anger. He pushes her toward the realization that she is strong and she can do this if she would just believe it herself.

Not that kind of push.

4. I left a lot of openness to Claire's death in BlackMoon Beginnings. I wanted people to think about what actually could have happened to her. Claire has intuition and she's the only one to have actually read the prophecy, so she knew more about their situation than the others. I added Ryanne's nightmare scene in Scorching Secrets to show readers that Claire is still there. She's still watching and can still help at times. She's always had a big part in how everything plays out. Sneaky little Claire.

5. This is my favorite book in the series. It has the action, the romance, the comedy, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love all the books in this series. I wrote them after all, haha, but this one has a little of everything. I like how the beginning has a slightly sad/somber tone, but after the first few chapters it starts transitioning. The middle has all the cutesy and funny lovey stuff, before it starts getting serious and darker at the end. (I also really love the fourth book. It's my second favorite!)

6. <--Just because I can. I was a little worried about bringing James back into the series, but I didn't want him to just disappear. When I first started writing Descending Darkness, I knew that he would make another appearance in this book, but I didn't know what side he would be on. As I started to get further into the book, something just wasn't adding up. He just didn't seem like a bad guy to me, despite what he did in BlackMoon Beginnings to Ryanne. In BlackMoon Beginnings, I had a feeling that there was a more to him, but I didn't know about the "Cupid" part until I wrote that scene. I shocked myself, but I felt like everything started falling into place when I finally figured that out.

That's not the last surprise left for this series either. ;)

I hold all the power, haha.

7. <--Just because I can can. (For some reason, that sentence just made me laugh. *weirdo alert*) I really loved writing the scenes at the beginning of the book where Colton finally told Ryanne about soulmates and where he explain to her that he wanted to be stuck with her. Those where the scenes that my mom girly sighed at when she first read it :) I love girly sigh moments.

Technically, this should be the eighth fact, but I don't want to go overboard here. I'll just put it under the seventh fact. I'm cheatin' the counting system, just because I can can can. I drank a lot of caffeine this morning. I apologize. I love Incendia. I didn't plan on writing her in this series, but she demanded to be heard and I'm glad that she jumped into the last few chapters. She's probably one of my favorite characters. I really love her personality.

Anyway...that's all I have for right now. I may do another set of facts about this book, because I have a lot of things that I still want to say before the fourth book. Also, I'm planning on starting another POV soon. (I wrote that secret one, but I'm not going to release it until I get closer to publishing the fourth book.) I have a scene from BlackMoon Beginnings that's calling name, and I may try another Liam scene since a lot of people (including myself) love his character!

Have a great weekend! :)

First Teaser for the Fourth Book!

Tuesday, September 3, 2013
It's Teaser Tuesday!

I promised that once my Facebook page reached 260 likes or I received 30 reviews on Amazon or Barnes and Noble that I would post the first teaser for the fourth book. Well, I just reached 260 likes so, here is the very first teaser for last book in the Prophesized Series!

*This is unedited and subject to change before publication*

If anyone has issues reading this, I can also post a text version. I like creating simple visuals, but if it becomes too much, I can stop! Don't be afraid to let me know.

Thoughts on the teaser?!?

Ryanne and Colton Images :)

Monday, September 2, 2013
Quick update: Descending Darkness is now live on iTunes for those waiting to download from there. Sorry it took so long!

For some reason, I thought this was really fun. I loved seeing all of your pictures of who you see as Ryanne and Colton. It's fascinating to me see how different everyone views characters based on the same descriptions. I know that sometimes when I read, despite what the description says, I imagine a character however I want to. It's the rebel in me, I guess. Some might call me (I'm the only one that actually does) a rebel reader. I was honestly expecting some crazy pictures, but for the most part everyone stuck to the descriptions. It was interesting--in a good way!

It's picture time! *cue the fun music* You can throw confetti if you want to, but whatever mess you make, you have to clean up.

Don't let any of these pictures change how you view the characters. That's the great thing about reading! You can imagine them however you want!

Reader Pictures:

Anyway, here are some of the pictures I received for Ryanne:

My Picture

Ryanne is difficult, because I know exactly what she looks like, but I can't find an image that really suits her. Here are my images for Ryanne:

Let's do some image math right now. If you take:

<< that image and add in some early T-Swift messy curls >>

(<<+>> =Ryanne)

I think that would be exactly what I imaged Ryanne looking like. Colton always calls Ryanne's hair unruly. Obviously, she's not blonde though.

Reader Pictures:

Finally, here are some pictures I received for Colton. Sorry if I didn't post your pic. I actually got more images than I was expecting, so I randomly chose some. I enjoyed making this collage ;)

I could see a lot of these guys being Colton. Kaitlyn approves :) haha

Here's my Colton:

I don't know what it is about this guy, but the second I found this picture on Pinterest, I was like "YES, that is my Colton," and nothing anyone says will change him for me. It's only in this picture though. His other stuff doesn't really look like Colton as strange as that sounds.

Just look at him. *sigh* (You can read on, I'm just going keep staring at him.)

If only his hair was a little longer. Since it's a black and white picture, I can't really see what color his eyes are, but imagine them green! A deep emerald awesome shade of green that you could get lost in as Ryanne often does.

Okay, I think that's all I have for this post. I'm going to go back to the mage world and work on book four edits! I'm guessing that I'll get 260 likes on Facebook soon, so keep an eye out for a teaser in the near future!

**You can click the images and they'll enlarge if you want to see a larger pic :)

***I do not own any of these images***

I hope you all have a fantastic day!
