Faith When Falling: Teaser Tuesday

It's Teaser Tuesday. It took me forever to find something to tease for today. I actually have a lot of stuff written for this book. All the major scenes are done, but EVERYTHING seems to contain some sort of spoiler. It's going to be interesting to see how long I can keep up the teasers for this book. 

Faith When Falling is a contemporary novel with a darker twist. I'm not going to go into more details about the characters or plotline until I finish with the first draft, but it is my goal to finish it within a week!

The pain spreads through my body as the fire gets closer. I try to shield myself from the fiery inferno and run away from the flames, but they follow my every move. The heat caresses my skin in a gentle touch that leaves me screaming out in pain. My legs crumble beneath me as the flames move up my body. I fall to the ground, engulfed with the burning brightness, and try to roll the flames away from my body. This only worsens my condition as the fire spread upwards.

I see nothing but flames all around me. I feel nothing but the burning sensation as the fire sears the flesh from my bones. I can no longer scream; my voice is completely dry and irritated from my constant yells. I curl into the fetal position, hoping that the end is near.

Music Monday #1

This is something new I'm going to try out. If you've read any of my books, you can probably tell that music is a very important component in my writing process. I have to listen to music when I'm writing. It helps me set the scene, my writing pace, the emotions I'm attempting to convey, etc. So, for the next few Mondays, I'm going to reveal some of the songs I'm currently writing to.

1. Breakaway by George Ezra

This song makes my ears happy. I have a thing for deep voices, and George Ezra just has an amazing voice. I don't really like his song "Budapest" that is played all the time on the radio, but I sure do love this song.

2. Kitchen Sink by Twenty One Pilots

This is probably my favorite song at the moment. Put your headphones in and turn it up really loud. Your ears will thank you. Twenty One Pilots is a lot different than what I usually listen to, but I'm obsessed. Just listen to the lyrics of the song. It's amazing. In fact, their songs contain some of the best lyrics I've ever heard.

3. Lowlife by X Ambassadors

X Ambassadors is another band that I just recently started listening to after my sister introduced me to them. I love them, and this is probably my favorite song by them. I've been listening to them a lot while writing. This song features Jaimie Commons who also has a really unique voice. Plus, I get to see them in concert in less than a month :)

New Book Title and Teaser!

As many of you know, I've been working on a new contemporary novel. I still have about 30K more to write it in, but it is definitely coming along. I have all the major scenes written right now. Since I write completely out of order, all I have to do is work on connecting them to the rest of the story. Anyway, I decided to reveal the title for this novel today, so without further ado:

At the moment, I'm not sure if this is a young adult novel or a new adult one. It was my intention to keep it young adult, but it keeps teetering between the two. I think when it is completely done, it'll be more of a new adult novel. I'll let you know what my final decision is there.

Now for the teaser:

If you've been on this blog for a while, you have probably seen this before. I did post the prologue for this novel a long time ago, but have decided to post it again for any new readers on here. Next week, I will give a teaser that is completely new to everyone, so make sure to come back for that :)

Prologue: 

I was warned. I should have listened.

How are you supposed to react when a mystery man calls you to tell you your life is in danger? What are you supposed to do in that moment? Neither high school nor college had a course about that, because it’s not something they teach in school. Unlike the movies, I don’t have a handsome prince willing to rush into the scene and swear to protect me. I don’t have handsome and brooding man taking an oath to guard my life with everything he has in him. In fact, I walked away from the only prince I ever knew. I left him standing in the middle of the street watching my back as I ran in the opposite direction.

Standing on the cliff’s edge, I look down at the water beneath me. Crashing against the jagged rocks, the waves are enraged and pummeling angrily against the cliff with Herculean strength as if life depended on it.

My life could depend on it.

Twenty years old is too young to die. I’ve done nothing worthwhile with the time I’ve been given. If I could go back...yes, there are many things I would change. Many things.

A single tear slides down my cheek as I turn around and watch the man walk out of the forest and slowly stalk towards me. With a smirk, he raises the small caliber gun and points it directly at me.

       I was warned. I should have listened.

Eternal Endings is LIVE

Here are a few things you should know about this book: 

1. Is it NOT a strict continuation of the series, but it does have to be read after Reaching Retribution unless you want some major spoilers. This is not a plot based book.

2. This book is a collection of short stories about what happened to each character after Reaching Retribution. Ryanne, Colton, Liam, David, Emma, Incendia, Logan, Bragden, Larkin, James, and Tom all have chapters in EE. Other characters will pop-up through the different POVs. There are three future sections at the end: 3 years and 10 years after the battle in RR. 

3. I have completely edited and formatted this book on my own. Usually, I have some outside help, but my usual people actually have lives (crazy, right?!), so there might be a few extra errors in it. I promise, I have tried really hard to catch the major errors, but it's difficult when I know what I meant to write. I will get it professionally edited at the end of this month, so if you really want to wait for it, you can! My feelings won't be hurt. 

4. Almost all the sections in this book gave me the feels. I don't know if it's just because this is the last book or I'm just that close to each of these characters, but I laughed and cried a few times writing and editing this book. I hope you will too. If you thought the epilogue of Reaching Retribution was too sappy or romantic or happy, you probably shouldn't read this book. Just a warning.

I am terrified for this book. I didn't get too many outside opinions, so this book may absolutely suck. I don't know...I don't really think it's horrible, but I'm a little biased. I'm just rambling now. I'm sorry. I hope you all enjoy it! Happy reading :)
