Teaser Tuesday!!!!

Tuesday, May 27, 2014
I hope you all had a good Memorial weekend. I actually got a lot of writing done this weekend and can now update you all on a few upcoming projects. To make up for my lack of blog posts recently, I've decided to release THREE teasers today.

1. Redeeming Lainey:

Redeeming Lainey is going to the editor at the end of this week and then the formatter at the end of June. Once the book is done being edited, I should be able to give a release date. I haven't done a teaser in a while for this book, so here you go.

This is unedited and subject to change before publication.

This is written from Bryce's perspective.

2. Prophesized Book:

I've been working on the last Prophesized Book. The book is about a 1/4 of the way finished. I have all of Ryanne and Colton's sections written. Liam's section is almost complete. I just have to add a few more details. The other characters are being stubborn at the moment and won't talk to me. Because of that, it's taken me a little longer than expected to write some of the chapters. I'm taking a slight break from writing this book because I don't want to force it. When I force my writing, I end up disappointed in the final result. I'm still hoping to finish this book by the end of summer. I'll keep you all updated on it's progress as I get further into it.

Since you've all been very patient with me as of late, I'm going to give you the first teaser from the book. It's from James' section.

This is unedited and subject to change before publication.

“You’ve done well, James,” a chorus of voices rings out behind me. Jumping up off the roof’s edge, I spin around and meet three short hooded figures, seemingly floating a few inches off the ground with their fraying black cloaks swaying with the breeze.
      The Fates.

No one on Earth has seen the Fates and lived to tell the tale. “Now, it’s your turn to find love for yourself.”

The title for this book is going to be released at the end of Redeeming Lainey. :)

3. Guardians of the Chosen Series:

Because I've been taking a small break from the Prophesized book, I've been working on the untitled first novel in my Guardians of the Chosen series. This book has a lot to do with Greek Mythology. I don't want to give too many details away at the moment because I'm not done writing it. I only have a few more chapters to go and then I'll give it to a few beta readers to get some initial opinions.

Here's the first teaser from that book. I couldn't decide what to "tease," so I just picked the first two paragraphs. It sounds a little depressing, but I do add humor to it. Don't worry!

This is unedited and subject to change before publication.

Walking through the forest on this cold night, I keep my eyes steady on the path in front of me, letting the low crunch of leaves beneath my feet lull my unease away. It’s hard to see at this time, but the moonlight provides enough illumination. The forest has become my place of solitude lately. During the days, everyone is watching me—waiting for me to crack. They’re all waiting for the moment when I lose it. Where I finally break down and cry. They don’t understand. I can’t. The second I cry, it becomes real. I can’t open myself up to that kind of pain. I won’t come back from it.
Tomorrow, I have to go live with my Uncle Ben and Aunt Sophie in North Carolina. I’ve never been out of Indiana before. I’ve been living in this small, quiet town my whole life, and I’m comfortable here. For the last few weeks, I’ve been staying with my best friend Aubrey. That was our arrangement. I could stay with them until school finished and I graduated. Then, I was to go live with my family. Technically, I’m eighteen and no longer need parental supervision, but I’m not ready to be on my own.

Not now. Not yet. Not after everything that’s happened recently.

That's all the teasers I have for now. I hope something sparked your interest! :)

Time to get back to work now. I'm going to try and get all these books published by the end of the year. Busy. Busy. Busy. I hope you all have a great week. This weekend will be a little hectic for me, but I'll try to get another teaser up next week. Thanks for stopping by my blog!!!

What time is it?

SUMMER TIME. Yes, I just went all High School Musical on you.

It's May?!? Is anyone else having trouble believing that? I just finished my college finals week and am now officially a college junior. Ahh, it's crazy, but that's a story for another time.

I posted on my blog about a month ago with some new updates, but many of those things have already changed. I'm sorry for the lack of any definite information. I'm trying to keep you all updated as I get new details pertaining my books and upcoming releases.

New Information and Questions:

1. I hired an editor. A different editor than the one I was going hire previously. However, this new editor is booked until June 1st. I'm going to send him my manuscript at that time and it should be done in a few weeks. This means that Redeeming Lainey won't be out until the end of June.

It does mean that the book will be in really good shape and that I won't have to do any re-edits later like I've had to do with the Prophesized Series.

2. I'm also in talks with a formatter, so the print version of Redeeming Lainey will look really nice and should be available shortly after the e-book version.

3. Due to some large expenses coming out this summer, I had to push my South Africa trip to next summer. Because of this, I can work on the last Prophesized novel this summer. Since this book is basically comprised of a lot of short stories, it won't take as long to write as some of my other novels. You all have been so patient with me these last few months, so I'll probably give you all the first "chapter" some time by the end of May. :)

This is where you come in:

I know most of what happens to all the characters after the battle in Reaching Retribution, and I know the major events I want to write BUT I also want your opinions.

What are some things you want or are looking forward to in this last book?

4. This summer, I'm also going to create some swag pieces for all the Prophesized Books and Redeeming Lainey. I've already bought some supplies, but I'm wondering what "swag" pieces interest you. I don't want to create a lot of one item and have no one to give it to.

That's all I wanted to talk about right now. I feel really bad, because by this time last year, I had already published two books. I haven't gotten anything out in 2014 yet :( I'm sorry for all the confusing information I've given recently, but I hope these books will be worth the wait.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you have a great weekend!
