Eternal Endings Teaser

Tuesday, October 28, 2014
It's Tuesday, and I've actually remembered that it's Tuesday, so I have a teaser prepared for today! I know a lot of people are looking for a Bragden teaser, but I still don't have enough written in his section to give one yet. I spent the past few days writing Emma's section and I'm almost done with hers. Her section is a little spoiler-y, so I'm not going to give a teaser from her perspective just yet.

Last week, I got a few requests for a Colton teaser, so here is a small second from his POV:

(For anyone who knows the timeline of the Prophesized Series, this section is a few months after the events in Reaching Retribution. It'll be toward the end of Eternal Endings.)

I glance over my shoulder and whistle for Ryanne to keep up. She’s so easily distracted when it snows. Looking away from the snow covered shop, she runs to catch up, and when her light giggle hits me, I can’t help but smile. Her laughter turns into a squeal when she slips on a patch of ice. Her feet slide atop of the slick surface, back and forth, before she starts going down. However,  she’s close enough to me now that I easily reach out and wrap an arm around her waist and spin her into my side before she falls. Her small gloved hands fist into the unbuttoned edges of my coat as she tries to regain her balance, and the giggle starts all over again.
“Still so graceful,” I tell her.
“I try,” she says through her laughter and meets my gaze. “I try.”
“I’d work on it a little more if I were you,” I mumble before loosening my grip on her. She releases my coat, but doesn’t step away until she’s positive she won’t fall.
“Maybe I do it on purpose,” she grins as she starts walking again. “I like having a big strong man catch me.”
With a look over her shoulder, she winks and skips ahead.

Just because I love cat gifs. You're welcome.

Teaser Tuesday...on a Wednesday: Eternal Endings

Wednesday, October 15, 2014
I asked the readers on my Facebook page which perspective they wanted from Eternal Endings for a teaser, and I got a lot of Bragden responses...However, I only just started Bragden's perspective, and I don't nearly have enough to do a teaser. I'm still trying to capture his voice. This week, you all get a little teaser from his younger brother: Liam. I really love Liam's section. That character will always have a special place in my heart. <3

“Where did you go?” Natalie questions when I sit down on the edge of the bed.
I’m not really sure how to start this.
“Did I do something wrong? I seriously was just joking about the flowers and chocolate before. I’m not one of those girls. I don’t want you to change anything or start acting different.”
“Natalie,” I say to get her to stop rambling. She stops talking and steps away from the door. During the silence, I collect my thoughts. I’ve never been one open up to something, but with Natalie I feel safe. “I know I’m a hard person to get to know. I keep to myself; I don’t open up. I spent two years of my life on my own. I did a lot of things I’m not proud of, and there are some things in my past that I will never tell you. It takes me longer to realize that there are people in my life who want to know me--to help me. Our family on the other side of the door,” I point to the door behind her, “will never know me as well as you do.”
“Ryanne knows you better than I do,” she whispers to me.
“Natalie, the relationship I have with Ryanne does not compare to what I have with you. For the first time in a very long time, I feel like my candle flame is no longer flickering. It’s burning bright.”
Her eyes narrow. “Your candle flame?”
Sitting back against the headboard, I pat the area beside me. “Want to hear a story?”
“What’s the story about?” she asks as she walks across the room and crawls over my legs to lie down beside me.
“This is my story. All of it.”

Teaser Tuesday: Eternal Endings

IT'S FINALLY TEASER TUESDAY

I had the worst case of writer's block I've ever experienced. I've only been writing for about two years, but I never stopped writing for more than a few days. I had writer's block for two months. I don't know what happened during August and September, but I just couldn't write. I kept opening my Word document hoping that day would be different, but the words just weren't coming to me. I think the most I was able to write was a few paragraphs here and there. That block has finally been torn down, and I've been able to write lately. I can't even begin to tell you how relieved I am!

Because of that, I thought now would be a good time to start releasing teasers again. This week is going to be a little longer because it's been so long since I gave you any new teasers from this book. This week's teaser is from Logan's POV.

THIS IS UNEDITED AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE BEFORE PUBLICATION.

“She just confused,” Ryanne tells me. “You have to look at it from her point of view. She was dying and then suddenly she wasn’t. You helped heal her. Then, she was thrown into the chaos that seems to always surround us. She didn’t really have a choice in the matter.”
“But she’s…”
“She’s scared, Logan.” My walk slows, because I know Ryanne will have more to say. “She didn’t know you, and suddenly you take up a lot of her thoughts. She may not want you to, but you do, and she doesn’t like that.”
“That comes with—”
“Being soulmates,” Ryanne finishes for me. At a crosswalk, Ryanne stops and looks directly up at me. “You’ve known about soulmates your entire life. Lily hasn’t. Growing up, we dreamed that someday our prince would come and sweep us off our feet. We dreamed of a happily every after, but as we got older, we knew that a dream was all that was. There was no such thing as our perfect half. Relationships are hard work, and Lily’s still in that mentality. You’re too good to be true for her.”
“How can—” she interrupts me again.
“It’s all new to her. The magic. Soulmates. A few months ago, she never knew any of it existed. Her life did a complete one-eighty, and she’s still reeling from that.”
“What should I do?” Ryanne reaches out and presses the button on the crosswalk.
“Be her prince,” she whispers and motions across the street. My eyes follow her hand. You sneaky little girl. Ryanne stopped up at the crosswalk that leads directly toward Lily’s neighborhood. “You’ve been brooding all week. Lily’s probably doing the same. Go to her, Logan, and give her back her slipper.”
Right now, I have about 50K written in Eternal Endings. I'm about halfway through what I want to write. I think I'll still be able to finish it by the end of the year, but this novel probably won't be published until early 2015. I've been going to my college's library to write almost every night, so hopefully that schedule sticks. *fingers crossed* I'll let you know more the closer I get to finishing.
